Our Dental Team in Owatonna, MN

I treat every patient that pursues care with my team as a unique individual who deserves respect, a compassionate ear and excellent quality care. We take the time to listen to the needs of every patient before recommending appropriate treatments.

The profession of dentistry affords me and my team the opportunity to provide quality care to all who enter the doors of Main Street Dental Clinics. Patients may not always remember the details of the care we provide them, but they will always remember how we made them feel: appreciated and well cared for.

Originally from Harwood, North Dakota, I earned my undergraduate degree at St. John’s University and graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2002. Since completing my formal education, I have continued my education through professional associations and study groups to be able to provide the best care possible to my patients.

I have lived in Owatonna, MN since 2003. My wife Melanie and I have three boys, Nolan, Blake and Gavin, as well as a new puppy named Duke. When I’m not in the office, I enjoy working on home projects, spending time in the beautiful Minnesota outdoors and being with family and friends. I cherish the simple moments in life.

My community is also very important to me, and I believe it is vital to give back whenever I can. I have coached soccer, baseball and basketball for Owatonna Parks & Recreation, coached the Owatonna Basketball and Soccer Associations and am a member of the Owatonna Hoops Club, Owatonna Chamber of Commerce and St. Mary’s School auction committee.

From as early as I can remember, I’ve wanted to be a dentist. I always enjoyed my visits to the dentist’s office, chatting with my hygienist and dentist and leaving with a big sticker on my shirt. As I grew older and explored the field of dentistry more deeply, I discovered just how rewarding it can be. I’m drawn to both art and science, love connecting with new people and find great satisfaction in helping others with their health and easing any anxieties they might have. Dentistry feels like a perfect fit for me because it combines all the things I’m passionate about, allowing me to feel fulfilled while working closely with my patients to provide the most comfortable and high-quality care possible.

I grew up in Maple Grove, Minnesota, where I played hockey and piano, and graduated from Maple Grove Senior High in 2016. I then went on to the University of Notre Dame, where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Science-Business. Go Irish! I graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2024, where I also had the opportunity to work as a tutor and teacher’s aide. I’m committed to staying current with the latest advancements in dentistry to ensure the best care for my patients. That’s why I’m actively involved with the American Dental Association® and the Minnesota Dental Association, taking part in continuing education to keep my skills sharp and my knowledge up-to-date.

When I’m not in the office, you can find me on a pottery wheel, taking my dog Herbert for a walk, enjoying a Wild game or sharing laughs with my partner, family and friends.

I feel the practice of dentistry has given me a purpose to care for people in a way that will outlast my time. My work as a dentist has allowed me to affect patients positively on personal level, enhancing their oral and overall health. I feel privileged to help patients restored to full dental health, and in turn, establishing better overall health. I truly strive to exceed the expectations of my patients every day and in every way possible. 

I also really enjoy the kindness and appreciation patients show me. I feel that the kindness we share is returned in full by the patients we serve. I take great satisfaction in seeing patients’ families grow alongside my family over the last 18 years.

I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Minnesota-Morris. I then graduated with my Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis School of Dentistry in 2002.

The practice of dentistry is always evolving and with this evolution, patient care and the actual delivery of dentistry keeps getting better. Continuing education allows me to stay informed as to new developments in dentistry, which I can use to enhance patient care. I attend the annual Minnesota Dental Association meeting to obtain continuing education, also attending evening classes during the year when available.

My wife Janel and I have been married for almost 22 years. We have four children ranging in age from 11 to 19, and have loved growing our family in Owatonna. I love spending time with family, whether I’m taking walks with my wife or seeing my kids participate in sports, music and their other activities. I enjoy being outside, especially running, and participate in triathlons as well.

Being part of the community is vital because so much of what happens within our community is done by volunteers who see the value in supporting all those within the community. I volunteer with the Free Clinic of Steele County and personally through our church, NewLife Community in Owatonna on the Production Team.

Heidi has been working here since 2007. She is married and has three children, one daughter and two sons, and two spoiled dogs. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending time and making great memories with her family, camping, outdoor activities or relaxing at home. She loves all things home décor — interior and exterior — and shopping.

Kenzie started working at Main Street Dental Clinics in June 2023.

Nancy started working here in September 2023. She enjoys the little things in life like coloring.

Rachel has been working at Main Street Dental Clinics for three years.

Abbie started working at Main Street Dental Clinics in April 2025. She is married and has two cats. She likes reading, crafting, baking, coloring, watching movies, binge-watching TV shows and going for walks.

Rica started working at Main Street Dental Clinics in July 2024.

Angela has been working with us since 1999.

Jenny had been practicing in dentistry for 19 years before joining Main Street Dental Clinics in 2024. She lives in the country by Owatonna with her spouse, son, daughter and a silver lab named Rue. She enjoys spending time with her kids and family, gardening, biking, doing anything outdoors and learning about health topics and trends that impact oral health.

Josie became a part of Main Street Dental Clinics in 2023.

Kristin started at Main Street Dental Clinics in 2013. She is married to her husband and has four sons. She enjoys gardening, soccer games, fostering dogs and great coffee to keep her going.

Taylor started working here in May 2021. She enjoys taking her dog for nature walks, swimming and listening to music.

Jenna became a part of our team in 2021. Her significant other is Cameron and they have three children. She enjoys spending time with family, being outdoors, biking, rollerblading and watching her kids play sports.

Jennifer has been working as part of our team at Main Street Dental Clinics since November 2004.

Julie started working at Main Street Dental Clinics in 2025.

Karen became a part of our team in 2016. She is married and has four daughters and 11 grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with family, quilting, playing cards and spoiling her grandkids.

Katie started working with us at Main Street Dental Clinics in March 2002.

Kayla started working at our practice in June 2024.

Laura became a part of our team at Main Street Dental Clinics in 2008.

Nikki started working here in 2018.

Gracie has been working with us since November 2024.

Missy became a part of our team in 2025.
